On behalf of the Journal of Food Nutrition & Health, as Editor-in-Chief, it is my distinct honour on behalf of our Journal and we are privileged to welcome Analytical Society to our journal. As Editor-In-Chief it is my great pleasure and honour to introduce you to the Journal of Food Nutrition & Health.
Nutrition is a basic human need and a prerequisite for healthy life. A proper diet is essential from very early age of life for growth, development and active life. Nutrition is the science that deals with all the various factors of which food is composed and the way in which proper nourishment is brought about.
The UK Nutrition Society defines health nutrition as the application of nutrition and physical activity to the promotion of good health, the primary prevention of diet-related illness of groups, communities, and populations. Moreover, human food and water intake affect the public in ways other than health. Perhaps the present interest in public health nutrition is a way to balance the previous century's overemphasis on nutrition science and the chemical and biochemical characterization of food exposure and its effect on human physiology.
Nutrition is a very good source of calcium, phosphorus, riboflavin-vitamin B2 and iodine. It is also a good source of vitamin B12, pantothenic acid-vitamin B5, zinc, potassium, protein and molybdenum. These 10 nutrients alone would make Nutrition a health-supportive food.
But a more interesting health fact is the potential inclusion of live bacteria, when nutrition is consumed.
